Lee Hammond's Lifelike Drawing in Colored Pencil

In this artistsnetwork.tv video workshop, Lee demonstrates techniques for achieving lifelike drawings in colored pencil no matter what your subject, giving you the tools you need for wonderful, realistic results! After a review of materials, Lee shows you how to perfect layering and burnishing techniques for super, realistic effects. She then demonstrates how to draw a variety of subjects—vase, butterfly, hibiscus—building new skills with each, from achieving the smooth transitions of a spherical vase, to the overlapping edges and intense colors of a butterfly's wings, to the delicate layers and overlaps of flower petals.

In this preview you'll learn when and how to use layering versus burnishing techniques as you use colored pencils to create a peach and a nectarine. Visit artistsnetwork.tv to access the 84-minute video (starting 12/3/2010).
